A wonderful evening at University of Huddersfield on 12th May as part of the Huddersfield Literature Festival, proudly sponsored by Longley Farm.

It was a privilege to hear Vince Cable speak so insightfully about his latest book, Eclipsing The West. His talk was engaging throughout, with fascinating accompanying slides that brought many of the global political and economic themes vividly to life. The evening concluded with a well-attended book signing session.

The following day, Sir Vince visited Longley Farm for a tour and discussion session with owner Jimmy Dickinson. Conversations ranged across business, politics, agriculture, and the wider economic landscape, alongside a full tour of the dairy production facility. Sir Vince particularly enjoyed meeting and talking with employees across the dairy, hearing about the remarkable long service many had given to the business over the years.

Two days of thoughtful discussion, insight, and excellent hospitality.
