It's always a pleasure to be in The Great Yorkshire Show, and this year was no different.
All our departments picked up awards, but our Cottage Cheese received a total of eight awards, with both our Full Fat and Low Fat Natural Cottage Cheeses getting awards in the Chilled Dairy Product category!
The judges for the 'Soft Cheese with Added Flavour' category awarded our Cottage Cheese with Chives gold, saying it had a ‘good balanced creamy flavour’ with a ‘good distinction of ingredients’. It also came first in the 'Flavoured Chilled Dairy' product class, where we had a clean sweep; Full Fat Cottage Cheese with Chives, Apricot Fromage Frais and Low Fat Cottage Cheese with Chives taking gold, silver, and bronze respectively.
It’s not just our Cottage Cheese department that should be pleased though, our Yogurt also did very well. While our Blueberry yogurt received bronze in the 'Flavoured Whole Milk Yogurt' class, it is our Bio yogurts that accrued the most awards this year; Bio Natural and Strawberry and Rhubarb received awards, while the Bio Apricot was selected as the ‘worthy winner’ in the ’broad selection of products within the class’.
It doesn’t stop there either: our cream department are not ones to miss out on the awards! Our Jersey Extra Rich Cream was awarded gold in the Double Cream category, and silver in the Channel Islands Cream class. The judges noted that it was a ‘good straw yellow, clearly better and more interesting colour than others in class’. We can thank our Jersey cows for that! You can read more about this here.
