Going... going... gone!
After being a feature on the local landscape since 1986, our faithful old wind turbine has finally been dismantled and removed to make way for the new one due to be installed in the summer.
On Wednesday 13th May, the team from Enviko made the most of the good weather to dismantle and remove the now obsolete turbine. But don't worry the horizon won't be bare for long, as the new turbine is due to be up and running before next winter.
The new turbine will be community-owned, as part of a project in partnership with HoTT (Holmfirth Transition Town), and will provide around a third of our electricity consumption, saving around 475 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions per year.
