Holmfirth Charity Tractor Run for Kirkwood Hospice
On 30th June the annual Holmfirth Charity Tractor Run set off from Holmfirth, with 14 vintage tractors driving over 110 miles to Scarborough, and raising £3827.25 for Kirkwood Hospice in the process.
The Holmfirth Charity Tractor Run group hold a tractor run every year to raise funds for a local or national charity. For 2019 they chose Kirkwood Hospice as their charity. Some of their members have received support from the charity’s nurses for family members and wanted to raise some funds for the much needed service the charity provides to the local community. Kirkwood Hospice are also Longley Farm’s chosen charity for 2019 so we were delighted to support this fundraising effort by sponsoring a driver, John Edinborough. John is the husband of Susan Edinborough who used to work in the office at Longley Farm.
The group set off from Holmfirth on 30th June and, after a night camping in Riccall, arrived in Hunmanby, Scarborough on 1st July. The group spent a week camping in Hunmanby, making various visits to the surrounding area to shake their collection buckets and raise some extra funds for Kirkwood Hospice. They also met the Deputy Mayor of Scarborough, Mrs Roberta Swiers, and Julia Owen from Kirkwood Hospice on the seafront.
Congratulations to Holmfirth Charity Tractor Run for their successful fundraising for Kirkwood Hospice.
