Holme Valley Hardship Fund
Longley Farm is supporting the Holme Valley South Covid-19 Hardship Fund, set up by Councillor Paul Davies and coordinated by the Holmfirth Tech, in its role of Community Anchor.
The hardship fund supports local people with an immediate financial need as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic. It is aimed at those unable to cover basic necessities, such as food, heating, housing or childcare, that cannot otherwise be addressed by the existing benefits system or the various Covid-19 government support packages. So far it has donated over £4,000 to more than 30 households.
In an article in the June edition of the Holme Valley Review, Sarah Broxton, Holmfirth Tech's centre manager said: "It's such a great thing to be able to help those in need and we still have funds available to help households."
