We made the decision to remove the plastic over-lids on our cottage cheese range to reduce the plastic consumption of Longley Farm. Here at Longley Farm we take great pride in trying to do our bit for the environment and the removal of the over-lids on the this range alone will save 27 tonnes of plastic per year.
While we have not yet found a viable alternative to plastic pots for our products, the removal of the over-lid is one way that we can do our bit.
We have tested the shelf life of the product to ensure that customers are still getting the same great product and the removal of the over-lid has no detrimental effect on the quality of the product.
