  • "The English Original"

The history of cottage cheese is a bit of a mystery. At some point it crossed the Atlantic to the United States and became hugely popular; whereas over here it faded into obscurity. So popular was it with the Americans that it was even supplied to the US Navy during WWII. And it was in 1944 that Lt. Joseph Dickinson RNVR , whilst serving in the British Pacific Fleet, first came across it.

The second contact came in 1964 during a trip to the USA to look at modern farming techniques. From such chance encounters emerged the idea to try making cottage cheese on a commercial scale back in its country of origin. It took another ten years before the first pots appeared. Using a vat the size of a bath-tub, wooden hay rakes as stirrers and literally hand-packed, it was a labour of love.

After a while, the switch was made from a sweet to a soured-cream dressing and so was created English-Style Cottage Cheese: born and bred at Longley Farm.

Genuinely the best cottage cheese there is!

I love cottage cheese, always have done and always will. Longley Farm cottage cheese range is by far the best, for taste and texture! Please don’t ever change the recipe! :)
I had started to get a little worried as every time I went to my local asda it was constantly out of stock! So much so I felt the need to check on Longley Farm! But it seems from reading the reviews that a lot of people seem to be in the same boat and perhaps asda and other stores need to up their contract to keep up with the demand better!

Perfect

This is how corrage cheese should be, its streets ahead of any other brands. I just wish my local Asda would get more in as it flies off the shelves as soon as it arrives.

Totally perfect cottage cheese

The very best cottage cheese- ever!

I must add my comments to those of your other satisfied customers. Longley Farm cottage cheese is far and away the best cottage cheese I have ever eaten and I've tried a few. I eat it every day and love it's rich, creamy taste. Shame Waitrose doesn't stock it - Asda does, although sometimes they are out of stock for a few weeks. Please don't change the gorgeous recipe!!

Lovely little pot of cottage cheese

It was the shape of the pot that stood out to me in the supermarket. Thought I’d give the make a go as there hasn’t been a decent flavoured cottage cheese for a few years that I have found. Until now! Longley Farm cottage cheese with pineapple has great flavour, texture and I think value for money. Added bonus of supporting our UK farms. I’m now looking out for other products from this manufacturer.

Simply the best

No other cottage cheese (the full fat version) can match it. Shame it’s become too expensive in the main supermarkets. We seek it out in Home Bargains etc.
