Yogurt Boxes to Charity Hampers

Recently Lightcliffe Academy got in touch to ask if we could help them with a charity hamper project, by providing some empty yogurt boxes. Apparently our boxes were the perfect size for a hamper to be filled with goodies for local senior citizens.

Karen Rawling from Lightcliffe Academy told us:

"Local senior citizens in the Lightcliffe area enjoyed a pre Christmas afternoon tea courtesy of Lightcliffe Academy.  Four Year 9 students assisted 6th Form organisers, now known as ‘Lightcliffe United’, in one of their enrichment and service events at their 6th form centre (formerly the Jubilee Community Centre) on Stoney Lane.

Homemade sandwiches, scones and cakes were crafted by students studying Food Technology, with music and entertainment provided by the committee members creating the merriment. The guests each returned home with a hamper which had been a joint effort from each Form entering a competition. They donated a suitable collection of goods to fill containers donated by Longley Farm, Holmfirth. The Form group prize was sponsored by ASDA and the balance of hampers sent on to Shelter in Halifax."
